The Hugh Jass Fat Bike Race Series wraps up its season at Blackhawk Ski Area near Madison, Wisconsin on Saturday 2/25/23. The trails at Blackhawk are a nice mix of XC and machine-built flow trails. Hugh Jassers have had some pretty astonishing luck with snow conditions this year. It’s been a real roller coaster of freeze-thaw cycles this winter and the HJ races always seem to be timed to enjoy the best of what snow has fallen in southern Wisconsin this winter. This week’s mixed bag of wintery precipitation holds promise, but I’m not taking off the studs quite yet. #freezethaw
