I set my alarm for 3:25 to catch the Six o’clock flight out to Las Vegas to attend this year’s scaled back, version of Interbike with a pretty clear idea that this year’s show would be smaller and that many of our favorite bike brands would not have their wares on display. With that in mind, I’m traveling solo this year and I think that was the way to go, to adjust for shrinkage.
I rolled into Boulder City and hit the outdoor demo on what was going to be a scorcher of a Monday. I found a few new companies with some pretty sweet gear and the stalwart of rebel bike culture, Surly Bikes, had their brand new demo fleet ready to rip, along with a brand new Krampus that, we’ll show you over at PlusBikes.com. Overall, I think the Outdoor Demo shrunk by more than 50% compared to the last two years, but there were still tons of people riding around on fat and +plus bikes, so let’s not dwell on the negative space and get to some photos!
The new Wednesday color is a deep arterial blood, burgundy, merlot sort of number.
The new Surly Ice Cream Trucks are Yellah
Devinci Minus – They call it a Snow Bike on their website, cuz Canada is pretty snowy.
Origin8 has been in the fat-bike biz for five years and this years model looks better than past efforts.
The Pimp’n Pump Case – Lezyne has some new tool kits that look killer too!
Santana had two Fatandems in their Booth
Now that’s a brake rotor!
100% Protection was showing a softshell glove that looks good for pogie users.

The Wazia Comes Studded or Un-studded
The studs on the Wazia are taller that other studded tires that we’ve seen. We’ll be testing these tires and have more details soon.
The Otso Voytek This bike is the star of the show. Tons of innovation in this carbon beauty.
