In this Tec-GNAR Media video we look at the snow set up and the, more aggressive, trail set up on the white stuff and dirt.
Our amigos in Texas at Chumba were kind enough to allow us to ride their new made in the USA steel fat bike for an extended period of time. Join us and take a closer look at the URSA Major.
The frame on this bad boy is Chumba USA Select Steel, and has ovalized chainstays and oversized tubes, a bent downtube gives plenty of room for a Bluto fork in 360 degrees. A 44mm headtube fits a tapered fork, the rear dropouts accept a 190mm QR or 197mm thru-axle.
And here is a nice geometry chart for you number nerds out there.
This URSA Major comes set up pretty nicely. Rocking Sun Ringle Mulefut rims laced to Hope Fatsno hubs, Shimano XT brakes and 11 speed drivetrain. Some sharp looking RaceFace cranks and oversized cockpit.
Chumba sent a few extra parts to swap out. A snow set up rocking some Maxxis Colossus 26 x 4.8 tires and a Surly rigid fork including all of your braze-on needs. Even some lovely Paul Love levers cabled up to some BB7 mechanical brakes.
The trail set up seen here with the Maxxis Minion 26 x 4.8 tires, Rockshox Bluto 100mm fork, and dropper seatpost make this bike a ripper.
